Hi! I’m Kelly, and I’m glad you’re here.
Teaching is one of those jobs that tends to take over every part of your life.
Between lesson plans, behaviour charts, IEPs, and endless meetings, it’s hard to remember what self-care even looks like,
Grow Little Learners was born from the idea that we can’t pour from an empty cup — and that our own wellbeing directly shapes the calm, confidence, and connection in our classrooms.
It’s purpose is dual, but simple. In a nutshell, when teachers thrive, students do too.
If you’ve taught in a classroom since the pandemic, you’ll have noticed how kids are moving through school behind both academically and socially. In a dream world, we’d all understand that SEL skills are crucial for adulthood and would be resourced in both knowledge and time to help our students develop them. Unfortunately, that’s still a dream and in reality, there’s so much pressure on teachers to fix the academic gaps that SEL often falls between the cracks of the jam-packed curriculum.
Just as SEL shouldn’t feel like an extra subject to teach, nourishing your personal wellbeing shouldn’t feel like an extra task for you. We’ll show you how to weave it all into your existing days with low-pressure habits and activities. Before you know it, you’ll have embedded SEL into your life and classroom so seamlessly that the learning will happen without you or your kids realising it.
This blog isn’t about perfection or Pinterest-worthy classrooms. It’s about creating space for you to breathe, grow, and feel good about teaching again, so both you and your students can thrive.
This is your permission slip to start putting your wellbeing first.
Because when teachers thrive, classrooms do too.
